As for me I liked the idea of Shields who describes cyberspace as “a new universe… entered equally from a basement in Vancouver, a garage in Texas City, an apartment in Rome…” . I should say that people get used to many things, good and bad also, and it’s getting harder to escape these things as you are getting so into them. At first, when I started to use Internet frequently many years ago, in general it was a completely new, unfamiliar and amazing experience. But, time passes through, and this experience becomes just a normal and usual thing, sometimes simply a boring routine. So, you need something extra, something not ordinary, and you’re beginning to explore Internet for something different. Some people get stuck on net-games, some are siiting in chats, blogging, though it’s a recent innovation, dating online is very popular etc. I much agree that Internet became something more than lot’s of computers connected with each other. Nowadays Internet is living its own life. Currently I’m examinating myspace.com which is a whole space for millions of people from all over the world. And it’s interesting that it offers communication, networking, people can meet their halves in the net space. Thus, they create their unique community, people really make friends there, and the bourders of the understanding of the world are expanding by the way you communicate, it personally attracts me very much.
